About Tayven Cyber Security

I’m Tayven, a Cyber Security Analyst, Blue Team specialist, and advocate for building strong, positive cyber awareness in everyday life and across organisations. My work sits at the intersection of technical defence, human behaviour, and practical security culture.

I’ve spent my career working inside complex environments, protecting systems and people through a mix of hands‑on defence, strategic planning, and clear communication. My focus is on resilience: building systems, processes, and habits that stand up to real‑world threats.

What I Do

My background spans a wide range of Blue Team operations, including:

  • Incident response and threat detection aligned with NIST frameworks
  • ACSC (Australian Cyber Security Centre) Essential Eight implementation across enterprise environments
  • SIEM and XDR deployment for real‑time visibility and monitoring
  • SOC workload management, ticket handling, and escalation processes
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation planning
  • Phishing simulations and custom cyber awareness training
  • Documentation, reporting, and proactive risk mitigation across cloud and on‑premise systems

I’ve worked across both technical and human layers of security, from tuning detection rules to designing training programs that actually change behaviour.

Why This Blog Exists

Cyber security is often presented as complicated, intimidating, or purely technical. But the truth is simpler: security is a shared responsibility, and most risks come down to everyday decisions.

This blog is where I break down those decisions.

I write about real threats, real habits, and real stories, the things that shape how people and organisations stay safe online. My goal is to make cyber security accessible without watering it down, and practical without losing the bigger picture.

Expect a mix of:

  • Clear, actionable guidance
  • Blue Team insights from real experience
  • Culture‑focused strategies that work in the real world
  • Stories that turn technical concepts into something relatable
  • Frameworks and tools you can apply immediately

My Approach

I believe security culture is just as important as security controls. Technology can block threats, but people prevent them. That’s why my work blends technical defence with communication, training, and behaviour change.

Whether I’m implementing the Essential Eight, responding to incidents, or helping organisations build stronger habits, the goal is always the same: to make cyber security something people understand, value, and feel confident practising every day.
